The Milwaukee Brewers and the Los Angeles Dodgers are preparing to square off in the National League Championship Series. The series gets underway Sunday in Milwaukee, and the Brewers will have homefield advantage.
Milwaukee had the best record in the National League with a 103-59 record. However, the Dodgers have won back-to-back World Series titles and they are attempting to become the first National League team to win three consecutive Fall Classics.
Before the Dodgers can square off with the American League champions, they have to win this series. Jacob Misiorowski will take the mound for the Brewers in Game 1, while two-time Cy Young Award winner Tarik Skubal will get the start for the Dodgers.
The oddsmakers have made Misiorowski and the Brewers slight favorites (-113) to win Game 1 of the series. However, veteran Brewer Christian Yelich is not concerned with any discussion of which team is favored or which team is the underdog in the series.
“It doesn’t matter what the commentary is surrounding the series, who’s the favorite, who’s the underdog,” Yelich said, per Brewers beat writer Adam McCalvy. “It’s going to be decided on the field.”
