Manager Pat Murphy's Milwaukee Brewers are preparing to face the defending, back-to-back World Series champion Los Angeles Dodgers and Christian Yelich has no interest in talking about his team's underdog status. Murphy praised the Dodgers before expressing his desire to “kick their butts” starting on October 11 in Milwaukee.

Bob Nightengale of USA Today shared additional comments from Yelich, as the Brewers star paid his respects to manager Dave Roberts' team.

“Obviously we respect them. We respect everything they've done in the game, how they go about the game. You can't say enough great things about them, but at the same time, we're ready to compete with them.

“We're not surprised we're in this situation and in this series with them. I think that's kind of what you expect when the postseason starts…When the season starts. We want to play the best. And they've certainly been that the last few years. So it's going to be a great series.”

Yelich will lead the underdog Brewers against a slumping Shohei Ohtani and the Dodgers, a development not lost on superstar pitcher Jacob Misiorowski. Yelich revealed his excitement for getting the Dodgers at home, an edge Murphy's team would do well to exploit heading into the first game of the series.

The Brewers know they are up against a juggernaut in Roberts and Ohtani's team. It's going to take a monumental effort to stave off one of the best MLB teams in recent memory. Yelich, Muphy and company know they will get the Dodgers' best shot, but it's one they've been waiting for for quite some time.
