Rams coach Sean McVay is still not prepared to say how close Myles Garrett is to returning.
McVay said on Monday that he expected to have an update about Garrett, who is on injured reserve after knee surgery, by Thursday. But on Thursday McVay told reporters he still had no update.
“I really haven’t even had a chance to specifically — I know that the rehab is progressing well, he’s looked good in the meetings,” McVay said of Garrett. “Literally as I was walking up I realized I said I would have more of an update, and I thought to myself, Oh, shit, I don’t have more of an update on Myles. I’m a total idiot. But I haven’t had a chance. Here’s what I’ll tell you, though: I’ll find out so that I can have more of a specific answer for you guys. I feel like Ron Burgundy up here right now.”
The much-hyped Rams debut of Garrett became a letdown when he struggled to play through his knee injury in Week 1, and he got surgery after that. He’ll miss at least one more game, on Monday night against the Bills, but we still don’t know how many games he’ll miss after that.
