The Tampa Bay Buccaneers were finally able to get into the win column after beating the Dallas Cowboys in Week 5. A solid outing from a depleted offensive unit, as well as a stellar effort from the defense, turned the team's season around, even for just a week. However, it seemed like the Buccaneers paid the price for this loss when star offensive tackle Tristan Wirfs exited the game with an injury.
Wirfs exited the game against the Cowboys with a leg injury and did not return to the game. Despite the win, Buccaneers fans were worried about a potential long-term injury for their offensive tackle. Thankfully, Wirfs' post-game report about his injury indicates that this injury won't affect him in the long run.
“Talked to Wirfs in postgame — his knee got rolled up on, put a brace on to help with that, then was dealing with cramps in the same leg,” Greg Auman reported on X. “He'll be OK moving forward.”
Wirfs, the veteran offensive tackle, dealt with injuries during their preseason preparations. However, he got better enough during the offseason to play this year. However, given his age, it's not a surprise that Wirfs will be more susceptible to injury this late into his career.
The Buccaneers were able to pull out a win thanks in large part to Jalon Daniels' gutsy performance and the run game continually gashing the Cowboys. Daniels, despite losing his star offensive tackle, played admirably from the pocket. Daniels was emotional after the game, recording his first win of his NFL career.

The Buccaneers will now enjoy an extra-long rest before their next game. Their next game is in Week 6 on Sunday when they take on the Pittsburgh Steelers.
