To no one's surprise, Dallas Cowboys hater Stephen A. Smith was over the moon after the team's Thursday Night Football (TNF) loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
He posted a video of himself laughing on a plane after the game. Once he finally composed himself enough to speak, he said, “You can't make it up. You just can't. How 'bout them Cowboys?”
Smith didn't stop there, saying, “Christmas always comes early with these dudes. They never let me down.” He concluded the video by blowing a kiss into the camera as he continued laughing.
The Cowboys' embarrassing loss to the Buccaneers on TNF

Even without starting quarterback Baker Mayfield, the Buccaneers beat the Cowboys. Dallas took a 7-0 lead early and went into halftime up 10-7. However, things fell apart in the third quarter after Tampa Bay scored 17 points.
The Cowboys scored a touchdown late in the fourth quarter, but they weren't able to score again to tie the game. They lost 24-16 to the Buccaneers.
Jalon Daniels, who went undrafted in the 2026 NFL Draft after playing six seasons for Kansas, filled in admirably for Mayfield. He completed 19 of 25 pass attempts for 189 yards and one touchdown. He also rushed for 23 yards on seven carries.
Running back Bucky Irving was the story of the game, though. He rushed for 165 yards on 21 carries, nearly averaging eight yards per attempt, and scored two touchdowns (one rushing and one receiving).
The Bucs now have their first win of the season. They were 0-4 and teetering on another lost season before getting the win. For now, they are still alive. Luckily, the leaders in the NFC South (the Carolina Panthers and the Atlanta Falcons) are just 2-2. If the New Orleans Saints lose to the Minnesota Vikings on Oct. 11, they will be tied with the Bucs.
Meanwhile, the Cowboys dropped to 2-3. They are in third place in the NFC East behind the New York Giants (3-1) and the Philadelphia Eagles (2-2).
