The Philadelphia 76ers were able to get a feel for what their team may look like on the court when the season starts. This was the first time that the starters were able to play with each other, and it wasn't in an offseason workout or practice; there were some good things to take away from their stint.

During one moment, LeBron James made a no-look pass to VJ Edgecombe that resulted in an easy dunk for the second-year player. After the game, Edgecombe shared how it's different playing with James, and how he knew the pass was coming to him at the moment.

“Someone like him just requires so much gravity and attracts so much attention that I just got to play off of him,” Edgecombe said via ESPN's Dave McMenamin. “And that's cutting, running the floor, spotting up, whatever. So, yeah, he just — we made eye contact and I knew what that meant.”

James didn't do much scoring in his preseason debut, as he only took one shot attempt and had eight free-throw attempts. He was more of a playmaker, finishing with a team-high five assists. Edgecombe then had jokes for his teammate.

“He already got the [scoring] record,” Edgecombe said. “He don't care to score anymore.”

With so many offensive weapons on the team, James doesn't have to look to score as much. If anything, he should be the one setting up his teammates for easy shots, just like he did Edgecombe with the no-look pass.

Head coach Nick Nurse said that he sees James as a creator, and he showed that in his preseason debut. If James has to score, there's no doubt that he'll do what he needs to do for the team, but his gravity on the court will make everyone around him better.
