There's no doubt that Steve Kerr is outspoken about politics, and Golden State Warriors owner Joe Lacob knows he can go “a little far” with his takes.
Speaking to the San Francisco Chronicle, Lacob discussed his head coach sharing his views on politics. While he can go “a little far,” Lacob also trusts him to “say” and “do the right things.”
“Steve knows there are times he has said things which I did not agree with. But I do trust him to say the right things, do the right thing,” Lacob said. “Now sometimes he goes a little far and I have to go back and say, ‘Hey, Steve, maybe that was a little far.’ … But we don’t have to agree on everything.”
Warriors coach Steve Kerr's politics

Kerr is always outspoken about his political beliefs. This has resulted in a long feud with President Donald Trump, though he has since expressed his regret about not using more discretion.

I was so disgusted that I didn’t hold back,” Kerr said to The New York Times. “I’ve learned that I need to be better in terms of representing our organization in a way that I could still let my feelings be known but not get too personal. I’m representing a large group of people.”
Kerr is heading into his 13th season as the Warriors' head coach. During his tenure, he has brought the team four championships. He also won five as a player on the Chicago Bulls with Michael Jordan, bringing his total rings to nine.
However, since winning the Warriors' last championship in 2022, the team has only made the playoffs twice over the last four years. In the two seasons they made the dance, they were eliminated in the Western Conference Semifinals.
