On Wednesday evening, the Atlanta Braves' 2026 season came to an end with a frustrating home loss to the Los Angeles Dodgers in Game 4 of the NLDS. It was another brutal game for Ronald Acuna Jr., who once again failed to produce a hit and stranded multiple base runners with a groundout late in the game.

Recently, Acuna Jr. went viral for comments on a podcast that some interpreted as being directed at former Braves manager Brian Snitker.

Now, Acuna Jr. has cleared the air on that speculation, stating that the rumors were “all wrong” and that he was referring to a former assistant coach, although he said, “I'm not going to violate that code,” when asked who it was, per The Athletic.

Snitker and Acuna Jr. had some moments of volatility during the latter's tenure as the Braves' manager. Snitker has since taken on a role in Atlanta's front office.

Meanwhile, Acuna Jr. has now put together an alarming track record as a playoff dropper, not having hit a home run in the postseason since his rookie year all the way back in 2018, and suffering through a brutal series against the Dodgers this past week.

In fact, some fans have gone as far as to suggest that it wasn't a coincidence that the Braves' 2021 World Series win came without Acuna Jr. in the lineup.

The Atlanta brass will certainly have some big decisions to make this summer regarding both Acuna Jr. and some of the other Braves veterans who struggled mightily in these playoffs, including Matt Olson and Austin Riley.

Things could look quite a bit different for the team by the time next season rolls around.
