On Wednesday evening, the Atlanta Braves' 2026 season came to a disappointing end with a tough home loss to the Los Angeles Dodgers in Game 4 of the NLDS. The Braves' main bats once again struggled to produce in this one, with Matt Olson, Ronald Acuna Jr., Drake Baldwin, and Austin Riley combining for precisely zero hits in the loss.
After the game, Olson got 100 percent real on his frustration as the season comes to an end.
“I did little to nothing to help the team win. It’s a s***** feeling. You’re always going to point to yourself first and ask what you could’ve done. The feeling of letting the group down is always gonna be there,” said Olson, per Gabe Burns of the AJC on X, formerly Twitter.
Indeed, Olson was largely dormant throughout the Braves' playoff run after having another elite regular season, hitting over 40 home runs and helping Atlanta reclaim its throne atop the NL East.
However, Olson and several other key Braves contributors, including Acuna Jr. and Baldwin, all were mostly silent against the Dodgers' elite pitching, a matter made all the more frustrating considering that heading into the series, most pundits pointed to the Braves' patchwork pitching rotation as reason to doubt them.
Instead, Atlanta's pitching largely held up its end of the bargain, and the team's high-paid stars were the culprits for the disappointing loss.
Article Continues BelowIt remains to be seen what kind of changes the Braves' front office might consider this offseason, but this isn't the first time that Olson, Acuna Jr., and others have crumbled under the pressure of the MLB postseason.
It wouldn't be a shock to see things look a lot different in Atlanta by the time next season rolls around.
