The Philadelphia Eagles' offensive line has had a big week of change. First, the team learned that stalwart Pro Bowler Lane Johnson would be retiring, and then the team promptly traded center Cam Jurgens to the Baltimore Ravens in exchange for future draft compensation.
On Thursday, the team gave a potential preview of what their new offensive line may look like amid the turbulence.
“Center Drew Kendall (knee) appears to be absent for a second straight day at Eagles practice. In this look, Jake Majors is at center and Willie Lampkin at left guard,” reported Tim McManus of ESPN on X, formerly Twitter.
It's certainly going to be a challenge for head coach Nick Sirianni to juggle the abrupt changes his team now faces on the offensive line. Johnson was among the best at his position in the league for well over a decade and was met with an outpouring of love and support amid his retirement announcement earlier this week.
Meanwhile, Philadelphia's trade of Jurgens to Baltimore puzzled some fans, with many wondering if the team might be flatly punting on the 2026 season altogether amid their frustrating 2-2 start, which featured a choke job loss to the Los Angeles Rams this past week.
Article Continues BelowJalen Hurts has never had to play behind a truly bad offensive line before in his career, so it will be fascinating to see how the former Super Bowl MVP handled the pressure of playing what could be a patchwork unit heading into this week and beyond.
The Eagles are next set to hit the field on Sunday for a tough matchup against the red-hot Jacksonville Jaguars in England, with kickoff set for 9:30 am ET.
