Tyler Mahle's time with the Atlanta Braves could be over, but the veteran right-hander made it clear that he would have no problem returning if the opportunity presents itself.

Mahle was one of the biggest beneficiaries of the trade deadline, turning his season around after a difficult stint with the San Francisco Giants. He quickly became a reliable part of Atlanta's pitching staff and continued to shine until the Braves were eliminated from the NLDS Wednesday.

When asked about the possibility of returning to Atlanta in free agency, Mahle didn't hesitate.

“For sure. It'd be crazy for anyone not to want to be here. This place is awesome, and there's no other way to put it. It'd be crazy not to want to play here,” Mahle said, via Jesus Cano on X.

Mahle's numbers make a strong case for the Braves to consider bringing him back. He finished the season with a 3.99 ERA overall, but that number doesn't tell the full story of his turnaround. During the regular season with Atlanta, Mahle posted a 1.99 ERA, showing just how much better he was after joining the Braves.

His strong performance also carried over into his first postseason appearance. Mahle made two starts and finished with a 1.35 ERA across 13.1 innings, giving Atlanta exactly the type of pitching it needed during its playoff run.

Now, Mahle enters free agency having given the Braves plenty to think about. After struggling with the Giants, he found a home in Atlanta and looked like a completely different pitcher.

The Braves have a decision to make, but Mahle has already made his preference clear.
