With the Indiana Fever and Caitlin Clark exiting the WNBA Playoffs after losing to the Las Vegas Aces in three games, the conversation now shifts to locking down the superstar to a contract extension. As it was a crushing loss by the Fever to the Aces in the 94-83 Game 3 defeat, Clark would give insight into what she's thinking about when it comes to a potential contract extension.

Though entering the final year of her rookie contract, worth $597,596, she is eligible to sign an EPIC (exceptional performance on initial contract) extension, “which would pay her up to 17 percent of the salary cap in 2027,” via The Indy Star. However, Clark hasn't thought much about the prospect, instead saying she's “been playing 18 holes every day” in golf.

“Caitlin Clark on signing an extension (via league's new EPIC clause): ‘I haven't honestly given it much thought. I've been playing 18 holes every day.' Clark did say she's happy players like Aliyah Boston, Angel Reese and Paige Bueckers have a chance to get EPIC extensions,” Meghan L. Hall wrote on X, formerly Twitter.

Speaking more about potentially signing that contract extension during her end-of-season press conference on Thursday, she says first, “it's just figuring out the way we need to construct our roster.”

“I'm not saying I'm gonna sign it or not sign it. It's just figuring out the way we need to construct our roster,” Clark said. “No matter what, I'm gonna be here. I just want to do what's best for the team and make sure we have the opportunity to be able to win championships. That's my main goal.”

At any rate, it remains to be seen if Clark and Indiana will come to an agreement on an EPIC contract extension.
