The Dallas Mavericks made a huge move early in Masai Ujiri's tenure as president of the team by getting rid of longtime head coach Jason Kidd. Now, Dallas Mavericks owner Patrick Dumont is weighing in on what occurred.
In an interview with Christian Clark for The Athletic, Dumont backed Ujiri in his decision to part ways with Kidd, although he had 4 years remaining on his coaching contract.
“I support what Masai wants to do. I believe that’s really important. There is no daylight between us.”
Durmont's support for Ujiri in his decision aligns with what the Dallas Mavericks owner said in the interview, where he says he and Ujiri share values.
“We realized we had a really good set of shared values and ideas of who we are. What matters to us…Most importantly, morality. Hard work. Accountability. Being a good person. Caring for your family. Working hard to create success. Not taking anything for granted. Being humble. Learning from your mistakes. Thinking about the bigger picture and having a strategy for success every day.”
