The Boston Red Sox leave game one of their regular season-ending series against the Chicago Cubs with a guaranteed postseason date with the New York Yankees, and some more unwanted injury troubles. Summer meteorite Mickey Gasper exited Friday afternoon's 4-3 comeback victory with right biceps discomfort, per Tim Healey of The Boston Globe. An erratic lineup may now have to sidestep another landmine during their forthcoming journey to The Bronx.

Gasper started grabbing at his arm after striking out in the fifth inning, and suspicions were confirmed when new full-time manager Chad Tracy replaced him with Connor Wong. The journeyman catcher/designated hitter/first baseman has smashed 10 home runs since Aug. 17, perfectly embodying the Red Sox magic that fans have witnessed (on and off) over the last few months.

Although he has struggled to string together hits lately, Gasper consistently draws walks and currently owns .823 OPS in 191 at-bats this season.
