The NFL’s oldest rivalry rarely needs additional motivation. However, Chicago Bears head coach Ben Johnson may have provided exactly that. As the Green Bay Packers prepare to host Chicago in Week 5, left tackle Jordan Morgan made it clear that Johnson’s infamous “F*** the Packers” remark has not been forgotten inside Green Bay’s locker room.

Asked whether the diss still bothers Packers players, Morgan did not hesitate.

“Yeah. I mean, he’s dissing us. He’s dissing the Packers,” Morgan said. “A lot of people in here, I’m pretty sure, take that to heart. And we got a chance to prove to everybody on Sunday that we the best team.”

The response adds another layer of intensity to a pivotal NFC North showdown. Green Bay enters at 2-2. Meanwhile, Chicago sits at 3-1 and rides a three-game winning streak into Lambeau Field.

Morgan, meanwhile, has assumed full-time blindside duties protecting Jordan Love. That makes his matchup with Chicago’s pass rush particularly important. If the Packers want to turn Johnson’s words into motivation, their offensive line will need to set the tone from the opening snap.

Morgan has endured a demanding first month in his expanded role. Through four games, he has played 253 offensive snaps while providing continuity on an offensive line dealing with early-season changes and injuries. However, the former first-round pick has also surrendered 14 pressures and two sacks while drawing four penalties. That illustrates the challenges involved in consistently protecting Love. With Green Bay struggling to establish a reliable rushing attack, Morgan’s performance against Chicago could prove pivotal. The Packers have a chance to answer Johnson’s words the only way that ultimately matters: on the field.
