The Indiana Pacers recently learned that Tyrese Haliburton would be out for multiple weeks with a hamstring injury. The tough news was then followed up with a loss at home against the Philadelphia 76ers later in the day, making Wednesday a rough one for the Pacers.

Now, Pacers head coach Rick Carlisle has spoken on the potential recovery timeline for Haliburton.

“Let’s just say two weeks from now, you guys want to ask how he’s doing, that’ll be fine,” Carlisle said, per Joe Vardon, Eric Koreen and James Boyd of The Athletic. “I don’t think it’s realistic that he would play before then.”

Carlisle also spoke on Haliburton's confidence level amid the setback.

“He has a good feel for this,” Carlisle said. “He’s pretty encouraged that this is not serious.”

Haliburton is just a few games removed from returning after missing all of last season due to an Achilles injury he suffered in the 2025 NBA Finals against the Oklahoma City Thunder. The star point guard had gotten off to a strong start to this season, largely resembling the pre-injury version of himself, although the Pacers now sit at 2-3 on the campaign after Wednesday's loss to the 76ers.

The good news for the Pacers is that they accumulated plenty of experience last year playing without Haliburton in the lineup, so they should theoretically be more equipped to play without their star player moving forward than some other teams might be.

In any case, the Pacers will next hit the floor on Sunday for a home game against the Brooklyn Nets at 5:00 pm ET.
