The blockbuster trade of Giannis Antetokounmpo ended a long NBA saga over what the next move would be for both the two-time MVP and the Milwaukee Bucks organization. Antetokounmpo left because he believed that he could better compete for a championship elsewhere, as the Bucks look to supercharge their rebuild. But over four games, the Bucks and the Heat found themselves in two different places, not the place many basketball fans expected.
The Miami Heat are currently 0-4 after losing to the Dallas Mavericks despite a 90-84 fourth-quarter lead. Meanwhile, the Milwaukee Bucks have stayed competitive all season and pulled off a 110-102 win over the Indiana Pacers, led by Tyrese Haliburton. The Heat find themselves in a situation with palpable irony, especially given the on-court play of the Bucks' key players.
On Tuesday, Tyler Herro led all scorers for the Bucks with 23 points, 10 rebounds, 7 assists, 1 steal, and 1 block, hitting 3 three-pointers in 32 minutes. Kel'el Ware also had a dominant scoring game off the bench, scoring 16 points and grabbing 14 rebounds and 1 steal on 7-for-13 shooting in 19 minutes.
Article Continues BelowGiannis had a breakthrough game for the Miami Heat, scoring 29 points with 14 rebounds, 11 assists, and 1 block while making 2 three-pointers, but his All-Star teammate Bam Adebayo struggled. Adebayo finished with eight points, eight rebounds, three assists, two steals, and two blocks in 30 minutes, but he shot just 3 of 10 from the field and missed all five of his three-point attempts. Adebayo has had a slow start to the season, averaging 11.8 points per game and shooting 16.7% from three over his last four games.
The Heat look to rebound as they face off against the Atlanta Hawks in Atlanta on Wednesday.
