The Cleveland Guardians are attempting to complete their comeback in the American League Division Series in Game 5 against the Chicago White Sox. The fifth and decisive game of the series will be played at Progressive Field in Cleveland.
When the Guardians left their home field earlier in the week, they found themselves trailing in the series by a 2-0 margin. They were forced to play in front of a loud and enthusiastic crowd that backed the White Sox when the series went to the South Side of Chicago. The Guardians found a way to bounce back from the deficit with consecutive victories over the home team.
The Guardians will move on to the American League Championship Series against the Tampa Bay Rays if they can become the first team in the series to win a home game. If not, the resurgent White Sox will attempt to upset the Rays in the ALCS.
Cleveland manager Stephen Vogt is making one change in his lineup for the decisive game. Petey Halpin will be in centerfield for the Guardians in place of Angel Martinez, who has been hitless in 15 at bats.

Gavin Williams will get the start for the Guardians, two days after he closed out Game 4. Sean Burke will attempt to stop the Cleveland attack as he takes the mound for the White Sox.
