LeBron James' former Cleveland Cavaliers teammate, Delonte West, recently sparked fresh rumors with his cryptic response to a controversial question. Ahead of West and Michael Beasley's upcoming boxing match, the former NBA star appeared at the pre-fight press conference on Wednesday, Oct. 14, 2026.
Currently 10 months sober, West once went viral after videos of him roaming the streets started spreading. West recently disclosed that his former teammate LeBron James and James' mother Gloria supported him during his difficult times and recovery. This reignited talks of a major past rumor.
During his playing days, a controversial rumor began spreading that West was having a relationship with James' mother; however, the rumor was never confirmed. The rumors again surfaced at the press conference, when comedian Supa Hot Fire asked the controversial question.
Supa Hot Fire is also fighting on Adin Ross' Brand Risk Boxing. At the press conference, he got on the mic and asked, “Delonte West, did you have sexual relations with LeBron James' mother?” To which West responded, “A gentleman never tells.”

However, this response is far from stopping the rumors and has only helped the controversy get back into the spotlight. West's response has gone viral on the internet, leading to people talking about it again. However, James has not yet officially commented on it.
West is set to box Michael Beasley at Adin Ross' Brand Risk 16 on Friday, Oct. 16, 2026, at the Brand Risk Warehouse in Miami, Florida. This will mark the former NBA point guard's official boxing debut; once a celebrated NBA star, West is yet to leave his mark in boxing.
