The Dallas Cowboys have never been shy about making big moves during the season. Dallas acquired Joey Porter Jr. from Pittsburgh on Wednesday in exchange for multiple draft picks. Porter is coming to Dallas at exactly the right time because the team could be without multiple cornerbacks this weekend.

The Cowboys did not have multiple defensive backs at practice on Thursday ahead of Week 4, per Briana Aldridge of CBS News Texas.

Cobie Durant (hamstring) and Shavon Revel (knee/ankle) did not participate at practice on Thursday per the injury report. Neither player participated in practice on Wednesday either. This does not bode well for their ability to suit up for Sunday's game against the Texans.

Additionally, safety Malik Hooker (forearm) has been limited at practice for the past two days.

If Porter is able to play in Week 4, he could play a massive role in the Cowboys secondary. At this point, there appears to be a real chance that he will be active on Sunday.

Porter told reporters on Thursday that he is planning to make his Cowboys debut in Week 4.

“We’re just trying to take things day by day, and if everything looks good, then we should be out there,” Porter said via ESPN's Todd Archer.

Getting Porter on the field this weekend would be great news for the Cowboys. It would also be a surprising development as Porter was previously ruled out of Thursday Night Football had he stayed on the Steelers.

Aside from Porter, Dallas can also rely on DaRon Bland, Caelen Carson, and Ameer Speed at the cornerback position. They also have rookie Caleb Downs in their secondary, who can play in the slot and practically anywhere else.

Fans should keep their eyes peeled for Dallas' final injury report on Friday. That should confirm whether Durant, Revel, or Porter will play on Sunday.

Cowboys at Texans kicks off at 1 p.m. ET on Oct. 4 from NRG Stadium in Houston.
