The Philadelphia 76ers made a number of intriguing moves this offseason, but the one trade they were widely believed to have gotten the better end of was for Jaylen Brown. The 76ers sent two first-round picks and two second-round picks along with Paul George, and both teams have made strong starts to the season.
However, based purely on stats, it seems that it is George who has been the better player for his team, per a post on X by Courtside Buzz. Through six games thus far, George is averaging 21.4 points, six rebounds, 4.4 assists and 2.4 steals per game while shooting at an overall 46.9%.
Meanwhile, Brown is going at a slightly lower average of 19.8 points, 6.2 rebounds, 4.2 assists and 1.3 steals per game while shooting at just 43.6% from the field and 37.5% from the three-point zone. The 76ers have been one of the most impressive teams at the start of the NBA season and currently have a 6-1 record.
However, Boston is not that far behind and have opened the campaign 5-1. Still, fans will argue that a number of other factors are at play here.
First and foremost, Brown is playing on a stacked team that has multiple other ball handlers, from LeBron James and Tyrese Maxey to Joel Embiid. As a result, he has a usage rate of around 25%, with George enjoying more of the ball at Boston, and has a usage rate of more than 29%.

And well, this may as well be a comparison that makes more sense as we move further into the season.
