San Antonio Spurs star Victor Wembanyama has finally opened up about the painful moment that still stands out from last season's NBA Finals. Despite reportedly remaining reluctant to discuss the Finals loss, one collapse against the New York Knicks remains particularly difficult to forget.

The 22-year-old identified three playoff games that continue to occupy his thoughts. His latest admission offers a more personal account of the disappointment that followed San Antonio's championship defeat.

Asked which moments he replays most often from the postseason, Wembanyama initially struggled to narrow down his answer.

“I think there's two. I think… there's three,” Wembanyama said in an interview clip on X.

“I would say Game 1 in OKC, Game 7 in OKC, and Game 4 in New York.”

When asked why the fourth game against the Knicks stood out, Wembanyama delivered a revealing admission.

“Because it's the most intense heartbreak moment in my career,” he said.

San Antonio surrendered a 29-point lead in Game 4 of the NBA Finals, allowing New York to complete the biggest comeback in Finals history. The Knicks eventually secured a 107-106 victory, dealing a crushing blow to the Spurs' championship hopes.

OG Anunoby delivered the decisive basket with a putback in the closing seconds. The defeat left San Antonio trailing 3-1 in a series New York ultimately won in five games.

Wembanyama's comments also provide context to his determination to keep improving. While he continues developing his offensive game, memories of last season's postseason remain fresh.

For San Antonio, another championship opportunity would offer a chance to replace that painful memory with a better ending.
