Chiefs rookie cornerback Mansoor Delane has been battling through a shoulder injury throughout the season.
It kept him out of Sunday’s loss to the Broncos, with Delane being downgraded from questionable to out on Saturday.
At this point, it’s unclear if Delane will be able to return for Kansas City’s Week 9 matchup against the Jets.
“It’s just a matter of it being strong enough to get out there,” head coach Andy Reid said in his Monday news conference, via Nate Taylor of ESPN. “There’s a chance that he’ll be able to get himself out there this week. Again, it’s just how strong it is. It’s going to be a day-to-day thing.”
The No. 6 overall pick of this year’s draft, Delane has recorded five passes defensed, three tackles for loss, and an interception in five games. We’ll see if Delane is able to participate in Kansas City’s first practice of the week on Wednesday.
