ESPN analyst Kendrick Perkins believes Dallas Mavericks' Cooper Flagg is a top-10 player, and he isn't the only one, as Tim MacMahon explained why he wouldn't trade the NBA's 2025 top prospect for Los Angeles Lakers All-Star Luka Doncic. After the Mavericks posted a 4-2 record, Flagg's impressive start to the 2026-27 season hasn't gone unnoticed. He's averaging 26.8 points, 6.6 assists, 6.0 rebounds, and 2.6 steals per game for Dallas.

Flagg's promising production makes him a bonafide star, according to ESPN's Tim MacMahon.

“I would not trade Cooper Flagg for Luka [Doncic], considering age, contract, all that kind of stuff,” MacMahon said. Cooper Flagg, “I believe right now is a top 10 player.”

ESPN's Tim MacMahon's collegue Perkins believes no one can name 10 players better than Mavericks' Cooper Flagg, per ESPN's SportsCenter.

“We're talking about today: Cooper Flagg is a top 10 player in the NBA. We cannot name 10 players better than Cooper Flagg. He’s one of the best all-around players that we have in this game,” Perkins said. “The most impressive part about his game is that he’s able to be that point forward.

“Not only being able to create for himself but being able to create for others and you can tell that he’s been in the lab because he’s knocking down the trayball off the dribble. He’s getting to the midrange, he has a turnaround over both shoulders and he’s playing with this sense of urgency.”
