On Sunday afternoon, the Dallas Cowboys' 2026 season hit a new low with a brutal home loss to the Arizona Cardinals. The Cowboys controlled this game for most of the way but collapsed on defense down the stretch, surrendering a huge fourth quarter and overtime period from Gardner Minshew and company to fall back into the loss column.

After the game, Cowboys executive Stephen Jones was once again asked if the team was considering making any splashy deals ahead of the NFL trade deadline in order to get themselves back on track.

“We're always open to looking at making our team better,” said Jones, per 105.3 The FAN, via Todd Archer of The Athletic.

He was then asked if the Cowboys would become sellers at the deadline if they were to find a way to lose to the Indianapolis Colts next week.

“Guys, we're looking at getting better this week and we got a big game against the Colts and that's what we're focused on,” he said.

The Cowboys' loss to the Cardinals completely killed any good vibes that were remaining from last week's blowout win over the Philadelphia Eagles, sinking Dallas' record on the season to 3-5 on the campaign.

While the Cowboys' playoff hopes are still very much alive thanks to the ineptitude of the NFC East, it's hard to envision any scenario where they don't get eviscerated once they get there unless some major moves are made along the roster.

The Cowboys already tried to shore their defense up with a trade for Joey Porter Jr., but clearly, the results have not been there thus far.

In any case, as Jones referenced, Dallas will next hit the field next Sunday on the road vs the Indianapolis Colts.
