Paul George's playing status vs the Rockets

Considering his age and injury history, it's not necessarily a huge surprise that George isn't playing on the second end of a back-to-back against one of the most physical defenses in the league in Houston. While Boston was able to get into Houston at a normal hour last night due to their game against the Orlando Magic being during the afternoon, it is still tough to win games on the second end of back-to-back's with travel.

Meanwhile, Devin Carter will also miss this game due to an illness.

The Rockets, meanwhile, have a crowded injury report, as big men Steven Adams and Clint Capela will be out with various ailments, while Reed Sheppard is questionable with a low back strain.

Both the Celtics and Rockets enter this game with only one loss this season, and with George out, the pressure will only increase on Celtics star Jayson Tatum to make plays both for himself and his teammates.

Tatum has been on a monster run over the Celtics' five-game winning streak since his Opening Day dud against the Detroit Pistons, looking like a legit MVP candidate and leading Boston on its current streak, although it hasn't exactly come against a murderer's row of opponents.

That will change on Monday against a Rockets team that fancies itself a championship contender this year.
