The Atlanta Braves are currently in the early stages of the MLB free agency period, looking to add to their team after a rough playoff loss vs the Los Angeles Dodgers this past season. The Braves are looking to add some more offensive firepower to the roster this offseason after several of their bats went cold at the wrong time in the playoffs.
Now, the team has been linked to an intriguing name from another NL playoff team: Seiya Suzuki of the Chicago Cubs.
“Suzuki represents a defensive alternative to Ronald Acuña Jr., who has underwhelmed at the corner outfield position by his standards of late and made 14 starts as the team's designated hitter last season, and offers a way for the Braves to ease the homegrown star into being the team's DH on a more consistent basis,” reported FOX Sports.
“Suzuki would fit Atlanta's timeline as an NL contender with a core of players who are primarily in their prime,” added the publication.

He also went ice-cold in the playoffs, recording just one hit in the entire series against the Dodgers and coming up empty on several different occasions with runners in scoring position.
While Suzuki might not solve all of Atlanta's problems, he would give them another veteran bat with postseason experience to add to the mix as the Braves look to climb back into the contention zone in the NL.
