The Los Angeles Angels' front office will have a new look in 2027. The team has already decided to move on from manager Kurt Suzuki, while the Angels' new ownership group, led by Stan Kronke, will also have to hire a new general manager. Interim general manager John Mozeliak will not be back in 2027.
Now, an update on the general manager search has been given by Mozeliak, per Jeff Fletcher of the SoCal News Group.
“The Angels have still not interviewed anyone for the GM spot, according to John Mozeliak. They have ‘put some lists of names together.' He said the plan is to go full bore on this once MLB owners vote on the sale to KSE, which he now expects to happen the week of Nov. 16,” Fletcher posted on X, formerly Twitter.
Mozeliak was the long-time general manager for the St. Louis Cardinals, spending over 20 years with the organization. He first became the interim GM of the Cardinals in 2007, and later became the full-time GM. He stepped down from the role following the 2025 season. When the Angels fired Perry Minasin near the end of June, Mozeliak was brought in on an interim basis. He will continue in the role until a new GM is named.

Whoever the next GM is, they will have a tall task ahead of them. The Angels have not been to the playoffs since 2014, and have not won a playoff game since 2009.
