To say that new Portland Trail Blazers owner Tom Dundon’s tenure has been off to a rocky start would be a bit of an understatement. The latest source of contention amongst the fanbase stems from the ongoing drama regarding renovations and a new lease for the Blazers home arena, the Moda Center. In a recent email sent out to season ticket holders, Dundon seemingly reassured fans that the Blazers are here to stay in Portland. There’s just one little issue, it seems as if Dundon himself didn’t write the letter, at least not completely.
The software Panagram detected over 50 percent of Tom Dundon’s letter to Blazers season ticket holders as containing AI, as per longtime Blazers reporter Sean Highkin of The Rose Garden Report. Highkin acknowledges that the structure of the letter is a dead giveaway in terms of AI content, while jokingly saying that the kind words said about Portland itself is what really gives it away in that Dundon has never spoken so glowingly of the city since purchasing the team.
Amid the drama, the Blazers seemingly do have reason for optimism, as highlighted in Dundon’s letter, with the recent trade for All-Star point guard Ja Morant to pair with franchise player Damian Lillard. The team also has a few budding young players including first time All-Star Deni Avdija.
