LeBron James is preparing to make NBA history during his first season with the Philadelphia 76ers, and the 41-year-old already appears to have plenty of explosiveness remaining ahead of the 2026-27 campaign.
During Philadelphia's Blue x White Scrimmage at Xfinity Mobile Arena on Saturday, James provided one of the biggest highlights when he elevated for an alley-oop from star guard Tyrese Maxey and threw down the lob.
The play offered an early glimpse of the chemistry developing between James and Maxey as the 76ers prepare to enter the season with one of the NBA's most star-studded rosters.
James is set to begin his 24th NBA season, extending his record for the most seasons played in league history. While his longevity remains one of the defining storylines surrounding his latest campaign, Saturday's highlight showed that the veteran forward can still play above the rim as he approaches another milestone season.

LeBron James building chemistry with Tyrese Maxey, 76ers
James' partnership with Maxey will be among the most important dynamics for Philadelphia this season. Maxey gives the 76ers an explosive scoring option in the backcourt, while James' passing ability provides another playmaker capable of creating opportunities for him.
The Sixers' revamped roster also features Jaylen Brown and Joel Embiid, giving Philadelphia several established stars to integrate as the team develops its chemistry.
Saturday's scrimmage provided an early opportunity for the new-look group to play together in front of fans before preseason action begins.
For James, the alley-oop was only one play in an intrasquad scrimmage, but it provided an encouraging snapshot of his physical condition entering Year 24.
Philadelphia will need James to remain healthy and productive throughout the season as the franchise attempts to turn its aggressive offseason into a championship run.
