Stephanie White left the decision about her future with the Indiana Fever in the organization's hands after the team's season ended with a first-round playoff exit against the Las Vegas Aces.

White addressed her status during the Fever's exit interviews following Thursday night's 94-83 loss to Las Vegas in a decisive Game 3.

“At the end of the day, it’s their decision about whether I return or not,” White said, according to WNBA insider Khristina Williams on Saturday via X, formerly known as Twitter.

Despite acknowledging the uncertainty surrounding her position, White made it clear she wants to remain with Indiana.

“I’d love the opportunity. I love this franchise … and I hope to continue to be the coach,” White said.

White returned to Indiana before the 2025 season after previously coaching the Fever in 2015 and 2016. Over the past two seasons, she has guided Indiana to a 52-36 regular-season record and consecutive playoff appearances.

The Fever went 24-20 during White's first season back before improving to 28-16 this year. Indiana earned the No. 6 seed in the 2026 playoffs but saw its season end against the defending champion Aces in three games.

Stephanie White, Kelsey Mitchell face uncertain Fever futures

White is not the only prominent member of the organization facing questions entering the offseason. Star guard Kelsey Mitchell also addressed her future as she prepares to become an unrestricted free agent.

“It’s too early for me to really tell what I need to do,” Mitchell said, according to Williams.

Mitchell, who has spent her entire nine-year WNBA career with Indiana, said she needs to be “selfish” about what is best for herself and her family as she gets older. She plans to have conversations before making a decision and called her future “TBD.”

Mitchell averaged a career-high 24.7 points per game this season while helping White and the Fever reach the postseason for a third consecutive year.

With White hoping to return and Mitchell approaching free agency, Indiana enters the offseason with decisions involving two central figures from its 2026 season.
