The Buffalo Bills have agreed to a two-year, $5 million contract extension with linebacker Joe Andreessen as the organization prepares for its Week 4 matchup against the New England Patriots.
NFL insider Tom Pelissero reported the agreement Saturday via X, formerly known as Twitter.
“The Bills and LB Joe Andreessen have agreed to a two-year, $5 million extension with $3M guaranteed, per source.
The Buffalo native is staying home on a deal negotiated by his agency Generation Sports Group.”
Andreessen has recorded five total tackles, including one solo tackle, through three games this season. He has primarily contributed on special teams, playing 75% of Buffalo's special teams snaps through Week 3.
Article Continues BelowThe 26-year-old has developed into a consistent depth and special teams contributor since making Buffalo's roster as an undrafted free agent in 2024. Andreessen recorded 26 combined tackles, including 12 solo, across 13 games with one start as a rookie. He followed that performance with 35 tackles, including 14 solo, while appearing in all 17 games and making two starts during the 2025 season.
Andreessen has accumulated 66 tackles across 33 regular-season appearances during his three-year NFL career.
His extension also continues a hometown story in Buffalo. The Depew, New York, native attended Lancaster High School before eventually playing his final collegiate season at the University at Buffalo. Andreessen initially joined the Bills on a rookie minicamp tryout before earning a contract and ultimately making the 53-man roster.
Buffalo enters Week 4 at 3-0 after victories over the Houston Texans, Detroit Lions and Los Angeles Chargers. The Bills will host the Patriots (1-2) on Sunday at 1 p.m. ET on CBS.
