The Green Bay Packers could remain without star defensive end Micah Parsons for several more weeks as they attempt to overcome a difficult start to the 2026 season.

NFL insider Tom Pelissero reported Saturday that Parsons has avoided setbacks during his rehabilitation from the torn ACL he suffered late last season. However, the four-time Pro Bowler is not expected to return to practice next week and could remain sidelined until November.

“Packers star Micah Parsons hasn’t had any setbacks in his rehab. But he’s not expected to practice next week, and it could be November before he’s ready for game action,” Pelissero wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.

The timeline would keep Parsons out considerably longer than the Packers initially hoped. Green Bay placed him on the physically unable to perform list to begin the season, automatically ruling him out for the first four games. Earlier in the offseason, Week 6 had emerged as a potential target for his return.

Parsons underwent surgery in December after tearing his ACL against the Denver Broncos. His procedure also included work on his meniscus, and Green Bay has remained cautious throughout his rehabilitation.

Micah Parsons’ extended absence looms as Packers look to rebound in Week 4

His continued absence comes as the Packers desperately look to gain momentum. Green Bay enters Week 4 at 1-2, marking the franchise's first 1-2 start since 2014.

The Packers now face an opportunity to rebound against another struggling team when they travel to face the winless Tampa Bay Buccaneers (0-3) on Sunday. Tampa Bay will also be without starting quarterback Baker Mayfield, who suffered a dislocated thumb in its Week 3 loss to the Minnesota Vikings.

If Parsons does not return until November, he would miss several notable games, including Green Bay's Week 5 matchup against the Chicago Bears and a Week 6 meeting with his former team, the Dallas Cowboys. The Packers also face the Detroit Lions and Carolina Panthers before their Week 9 matchup against the New England Patriots on Nov. 8.

Green Bay will first attempt to get back to .500 against Tampa Bay on Sunday at 1 p.m. ET on FOX.
