Andy Robertson set to stay at Liverpool despite talks with Tottenham Hotspur
Andy Robertson is set to stay at Liverpool despite holding talks with Tottenham Hotspur, talkSPORT understands.
The Reds do not feel that they are currently in a position to sell the Scottish international after considering letting him go.

Tottenham made a move worth £5million plus add-ons and Kostas Tsimikas was rumoured to be recalled to Anfield.
However, Liverpool have opted not to proceed with any deal that would see Robertson leave as things stand.
Things could change late in the January transfer window, but for now, the left-back will be staying on Merseyside.
Robertson is understood to have conducted himself professionally throughout the process and hasn’t pushed for a move.
The Scotland star has been at Liverpool for most of his career, joining nine years ago in 2017, and establishing himself as a modern great.
While still maintaining a crucial leadership role as a vice-captain, he has been reduced to a bit-part player this season following the arrival of Milos Kerkez.
And after Ben Davies fractured his ankle, Tottenham made their move to sign Robertson, aiming to add another option in defence.
He is out of contract in the summer and Spurs brought forward pre-existing plans to sign him as a free agent.
But things haven’t worked out as of yet and it now appears he won’t be making the move to north London.
Robertson played 45 minutes for Liverpool against Bournemouth on Saturday, coming off the bench at half time for Kerkez.

The defender joined Liverpool from Hull City, following their relegation from the Premier League in 2017.
The fee was an initial £8million, which, given what he has gone on to achieve, must be one of the best deals in top-flight history.
Kerkez’s arrival has seen him play just 496 minutes in the league this year though, with regular minutes a struggle.
Thomas Frank has already seen Conor Gallagher join this month from Atletico Madrid in a deal worth around £35million.
And given Destiny Udogie’s injury problems, Robertson appeared to be exactly what Tottenham needed as they look to salvage their domestic season – but they’re going to miss out.
Spurs are currently 14th in the Premier League table after drawing 2-2 with Burnley, and they are out of both domestic cups.

Robertson’s Liverpool career
Initially signing for Jurgen Klopp, Robertson became part of the best full-back duo in the world.
On the other side, he had Trent Alexander-Arnold, and the Scottish international could often be seen bombing up and down both flanks.
As he’s aged, that part of his game has gone, but he still played a vital role in Liverpool’s Premier League title win under Arne Slot last season.
Robertson made 33 Premier League appearances as the Reds blew everyone away.
Overall, he has made 363 appearances for the Reds in nearly nine years at Anfield.
In that time, he’s won everything, including the Premier League twice and Champions League.

‘We’ll see what comes’
Despite him not joining Spurs, it still appears as if he is likely be leaving in the summer, with contract talks not progressing.
Speaking about his future earlier this month, Robertson said: “We’ve had chats now which will remain private; we’ll see what happens.
“I’ve got five months left and we need to see the option to stay or if there’s options to go and things like that. I’ll sit down with my family and decide.
“After a stressful summer, I’m just trying to enjoy being a part of it,
and being a Liverpool player. I wanted to qualify for the World Cup, and thankfully, we’ve managed to do that. I need to see what myself and my family wants.”
He added: “I’ve given absolutely everything for the club and the club have been very good to me. They have rewarded me with good contracts when I have been playing well.
“Nobody can deny what I have given to this club. I’ve given everything day in and day out and put in some performances, which I think have been good and I hope others agree.
“I’ve won a lot of trophies and had a lot of good days here.
“My relationship with the people higher up in the club has always been excellent. Signing me for £8m [from Hull City in 2017] and then doing what I have done helps that.
“I remind people of that all the time. The relationship is good. We’ve shown each other more than enough respect over the last eight-and-a-half years and we’ll see what comes.”
