The Kansas City Chiefs are facing the real possibility of missing the playoffs for the first time since the 2014 NFL season.

With six games remaining, Kansas City needs nearly perfect execution to secure an AFC berth. The margin for error has become thin as the season enters its final stretch.

With Kansas City facing difficult odds, analyst Chris Brockman recently made a bold playoff prediction about the Chiefs.

“The Chiefs might be the most dangerous seventh seed in NFL history,” Brockman said.

Kansas City rallied for a critical win in Week 12 against the Indianapolis Colts, following consecutive losses to the Buffalo Bills and Denver Broncos.

A defeat would have dropped them below .500 and damaged their record within the AFC, a significant disadvantage in tiebreaker scenarios. The overtime win kept the Chiefs alive in the wild-card conversation, and quarterback Patrick Mahomes’ postseason history under head coach Andy Reid remains a notable factor.

The Chiefs face a demanding schedule beginning with a Thanksgiving road game against the Dallas Cowboys in Week 13. They then host the Houston Texans and Los Angeles Chargers before traveling to play the Tennessee Titans.

The season concludes with AFC West matchups against the Broncos and Las Vegas Raiders. Every game carries substantial weight as Kansas City attempts to reverse its trajectory and return to its championship-contending form.
