Amanda Serrano ties long-standing record with blistering second-round stoppage
Amanda Serrano has once again written her name into the history books.
The future first-ballot Hall of Famer already holds the Guinness World Record for the most world titles won in separate divisions by a female boxer, with nine major belts across seven weight classes.

And on Saturday night, at the El Paso County Coliseum, she equalled Christy Martin’s long-standing women’s knockout record with her 32nd victory inside the distance over Germany’s Cheyenne Hanson.
Serrano proved too good for Hanson, who was quickly overwhelmed by the Puerto Rican puncher’s intense front foot pressure.
Late in the second round, Serrano pinned Hanson against the corner post and unloaded a series of unanswered blows as the referee jumped in and waved off the fight.
What did Serrano say post-fight?
“This is my time,” said Serrano after retaining her WBA and WBO featherweight titles.
“With the three minutes we get to set up shots.
“I was feeling her out in the first round.
“But I think the three minutes gave us more time to have fun in there, and that’s what I was doing, I was having fun.
“I can break the knockout record in my next fight.
“I can get my 50th win and break Christy Martin’s knockout record.”
Serrano improves to 49-4-1 in victory, while Hanson falls to 17-3.

MVPW03 undercard results
In the co-main event of MVP’s all-women’s bill, former UFC bantamweight champion Holly Holm was unable to exact her revenge on Stephanie Han.
The WBA lightweight champion retained her belt via majority decision, with two judges scoring the fight 96-94 in her favour, while the third had it 95-95 even.
In the lead-up to fight night, Holm had been campaigning for a fight with Katie Taylor, who is set to have her farewell fight at the back end of the year.
Now, Han has thrown her hat in the ring to face the Irish boxing legend.
“The next fight I want, and I know every fighter wants it, is Katie Taylor,” Han said post-fight.
Elsewhere on the undercard, Desley Robinson successfully defended her IBF and WBO middleweight titles with a lopsided unanimous decision victory over Mary Spencer, while Lourdes Juarez retained her WBC light-flyweight title via split decision against Yokasta Valle.
