All L’Jarius Sneed criminal charges dismissed. Now will any team sign him?

Five months ago, the NFL community was shaken by the news that L’Jarius Sneed had been indicted following an incident in Texas in December 2024.

A grand jury in Carrollton indicted the veteran cornerback on a misdemeanor charge of failing to report a felony.

The allegations stemmed from a shooting at an exotic car dealership, where Sneed and an assistant reportedly arrived in a rented Lamborghini Urus and fired at a business owner sitting in a Mercedes G-Wagon.

Although Sneed was initially arrested on aggravated assault charges, the indictment focused on his failure to immediately notify law enforcement about the crime.

In addition to the criminal proceedings, Sneed faced a $1 million civil lawsuit from the victim, who described the incident as an “unprovoked attack in cold blood.”

Today, the legal landscape for the veteran cornerback has changed significantly, with another NFL news report.

As first noticed by Adam Schefter, Dallas-based defense attorney Michael J. Todd announced that all criminal charges against Sneed have been dismissed.

While the grand jury had previously reduced the initial aggravated assault charge to a misdemeanor for failure to report a felony, the State of Texas has now completely dismissed the case.

Todd emphasized that this dismissal means Sneed will have no conviction or admission of guilt on his record.

With his legal issues behind him, the focus now shifts to whether any NFL team will be willing to sign the former Super Bowl champion to a new contract.

This legal victory comes after a tumultuous stint with the Tennessee Titans.

In March 2026, the Titans officially released Sneed, marking the end of what many described as a difficult time with the franchise.

By releasing the 29-year-old cornerback, the organization saved approximately $11.4 million in salary cap space.

Now officially a free agent, Sneed is eligible to sign with any team as he looks to move past the injury setbacks and legal challenges that characterized his time in Nashville.
