76ers’ Joel Embiid downplays Knicks fans’ Game 3 Xfinity Mobile Arena takeover

En route to a 108-94 loss to the New York Knicks in Game 3 of their second-round series, Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid claims he wasn’t thinking about Knicks’ fans’ overwhelming presence at the Xfinity Mobile Arena. After the loss, 76ers head coach Nick Nurse commended Embiid’s effort of playing through a sprained right ankle and a lingering hip injury.

After losing to the Knicks, a reporter asked Embiid about the traveling Knicks fans in attendance for Game 3, per SNY.

“I don’t know. I was focused on the game,” Embiid said. “I wasn’t really paying attention.”

76ers fans probably find it hard to believe, considering the loud, rowdy New York fans, watching their team en route to a 14-point win and a commanding 3-0 lead in the Eastern Conference semifinals, had to be deafening for Joel Embiid.
