Why Todd Monken ‘can’t wait’ to meet Deion Sanders

In a recent media availability, Cleveland Browns head coach Todd Monken spoke about potentially meeting Deion Sanders. Sanders is renowned as an NFL legend and the head coach of the Colorado Buffaloes, but he’s more importantly the father of Browns quarterback Shedeur Sanders.

Brown expressed his excitement to meet Sanders and even disclosed that they had initially planned to meet before, but a commercial shoot for Sanders got in the way.

“First of all, I can’t wait. You know, I, first of all, got a lot of respect, uh, for Coach Sanders, obviously as a player, but also what he’s done as a coach, and obviously he’s done a great job with Shedeur as a father. I’m open anytime he wants to meet. He said he was gonna come, but he had a commercial. So if he just lets me know where the next commercial shoot is, I’ll be there. I’ll show up. I, I really am looking forward to it.

He added, “I got a ton of respect for him and I got a ton of respect for Shedeur ’cause all he’s done since I’ve been here is work. That’s all he’s done is compete. He was here early in the off season. Hell, he bought me a horse head. I mean, [he] tried to cheese up to me early. So I think, which is really cool. So, I think it’s been great.”

Sanders made headlines last season when he made an appearance at Shedeur Sanders’ first game as the starter of the Browns. His meeting with Monken certainly will draw the attention of the sports world.
