What was said between Jack Draper and Daniil Medvedev in awkward net exchange
Jack Draper and Daniil Medvedev exchanged words at the net following their quarter-final match at Indian Wells.
Reigning champion Draper saw his title defence ended by Medvedev on Thursday in a 6-1, 7-5 defeat.

The British No.1 appeared to lack freshness in the last-eight match brought on by his stunning victory over Novak Djokovic just 24 hours earlier.
After the defeat, Draper let out his frustrations to Medvedev at the net after he was ruled to have caused a hindrance to his opponent in the second set.
Controversial moment
At 5-5 and 0-15 in the second set, French umpire Aurelie Tourte awarded Medvedev a point following a video review.
Draper had raised his arms at a disputed line call which was adjudged to have distracted his opponent, with Medvedev going on to seal a break.
Medvedev claimed Draper’s movement of both arms was a hindrance on him with Tourte agreeing and handing the Russian the point to make the score 30-love.
Spectators at Stadium Court 2 and Indian Wells made their feelings clear by booing Medvedev when the players changed ends.
A visibly disappointed Draper shook hands with the 11th seed at the end of the match with the former world No.1 quickly addressing the incident.
Post-match exchange
Medvedev told Draper: “If you’re mad with me I’m sorry.”
The Brit then replied: “No I’m not, I’m not at all, I don’t think it distracted you enough. That’s what I’m saying.”
Medvedev replied: “No, but I would understand [if you are mad].”

Draper added: “It’s a fair call, you won the match fair and square, but I don’t think it distracted you enough.” Medvedev then responded: “I asked her to look and that’s it. I don’t feel great, I mean I don’t know.”
Draper responded: “No, no, no it’s fine. It’s a fair call. I just don’t think it distracted you enough.”
The 24-year-old Briton told Tourte during the match that he felt the decision to award the point to Medvedev was harsh.
Following the video review, he told the umpire: “If it really distracted him then fair enough. There’s no way it was enough to distract him though. Players do that all the time. They do that all the time, where they’re like this [arm gesture]. They do it all the time. There’s no way it distracted him enough.
“We played two shots afterwards. In the rule book, if he misses the next ball, then I understand. But we played two more shots. I get it if he misses the next ball but he didn’t miss the next ball. So I lose the point when it wasn’t enough?”
Tourte replied: “You lose the point because you asked for a video review and on the review, we see you made something different than usual.”

But Draper responded: “I think you’ve got that wrong because I didn’t go like this [arm gesture]. Tourte hit back: “You made something different. That’s all I can see when I watch it.”
In his post-match press conference, Medvedev said: “I think I should have done it the moment it happened. I should not have waited until the end of the point, and then it would be a bit more, probably available.
“But if you look at my first forehand, I do, after this happens, I could have gone for more. I was kind of tiny bit distracted. So I said to the umpire, like, ‘What should I do? Should I do it next time straight away?’ And she goes, ‘If you want, you can video review.’ I said, ‘Okay, video review.’
“And whatever she decide, she decide, and she decided that it’s a point for me. So I take it. That’s basically it. Was I distracted big time? No. Was I distracted a bit? Yes. Is it enough to win the point? I don’t know.
“If you look on the first forehand I do after it happened, I think I could have done a better shot if there was no gesture from Jack.
“Was I distracted big time? No. Do I feel good about it? Not really. But I also don’t feel like I cheated or something.”
Quizzed on whether the incident has caused a rift between him and Draper, the Russian said: “I think we have a great relationship, so I don’t think one incident like this could make the outcome, especially, as again, I told him straight away, if she thinks it’s not enough, 15-All, we go on.
“If she thinks it’s enough, well, then, it’s Love-30, I’m sorry, and that’s what happened.”
