What time does the January transfer window shut? Deadline day details after change

The January transfer window for the 2025/26 season is drawing to a close and teams will need to be aware of a different closing date this time around.

It’s been a busy winter with Antoine Semenyo joining Manchester City in a deal worth up to £65million after the Citizens activated his release clause at Bournemouth.

City have also signed Marc Guehi from Crystal Palace while the Eagles splashed out bring in Brennan Johnson from Tottenham.

Spurs then signed Conor Gallagher from Atletico Madrid for £35m.

A number of other deals have been done across the league and more could come with teams having an extra few hours to secure business.

When does the transfer window close?

The transfer window opened on Thursday, January 1 and will close on Monday, February 2.

Usually, the window slams shut at 11pm in the Premier League, but it will be 7pm this winter.

This is to bring it in line with the other big European leagues and also it’s the same as the summer.

The window also normally ends on January 31.

However, because January 31 falls on a Saturday this year, clubs have two extra days to ensure that the final day is on a week day.
