Watch Shai Gilgeous-Alexander officially accept 2025-26 MVP award
Before the start of Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals between the San Antonio Spurs and the Oklahoma City Thunder, the league finally awarded Shai Gilgeous-Alexander the 2025-26 MVP Trophy.
The Thunder crowd erupted in cheers as NBA Commissioner Adam Silver handed the highly coveted award to the 27-year-old point guard. Gilgeous-Alexander immediately lifted the trophy into the air while the entire arena applauded him.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander won the MVP in a landslide after receiving 83 first-place votes. Denver Nuggets star Nikola Jokic came in second with just 10 first-place votes, while Victor Wembanyama of the San Antonio Spurs finished in third with five first-place votes. Gilgeous-Alexander is also just the 14th player in league history to win consecutive MVP Awards.
