RJ Barrett had the home crowd go insane following his game-winning shot in the Toronto Raptors’ Game 6 victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers on Friday night.

Going into the game, Toronto trailed 3-2 in the series. They bounced back from an 0-2 start by winning Games 3 and 4 at home before falling in Game 5 on the road. Game 6 was a must win as their season was on the line and Barrett heeded the call.

Cleveland led 110-109 in the final seconds of the overtime period as they tried to end the series in enemy territory. However, Barrett had other plans in mind as he knocked down a game-winning triple as it took a high bounce off the rim before going through the hoop. This resulted in everyone around the Toronto area going wild in a frenzy with excitement.

How RJ Barrett, Raptors played against Cavaliers

Raptors fans will be over the moon after getting to see another unique game-winning shot on their homecourt. In the meantime, RJ Barrett and the squad will look forward to pulling off an upset over the Cavaliers this series.

Perimeter shooting and fastbreak scoring made the difference in this matchup. The Raptors prevailed in both categories after making 13 3-pointers on a 36% clip and scoring 20 points on the fastbreak. It wasn’t the same for the Cavaliers as they converted 11 triples on 27% accuracy and produced six fastbreak points.

Four players scored in double-digits for Toronto in the win, including Barrett. He finished with a stat line of 24 points, nine rebounds, three assists, and one steal. He shot 8-of-21 from the field, including 4-of-12 from beyond the arc, and 4-of-5 from the free-throw line. Scottie Barnes led the team with 25 points, 14 assists, seven rebounds, three steals, and three blocks. Ja’Kobe Walter came next with 24 points and five rebounds, while Collin Murray-Boyles provided 17 points and seven rebounds.

The Raptors will fight to keep their season alive when they face the Cavaliers in Game 7. The matchup will go down on May 3 as tip-off commences at 7:30 p.m. ET.
