Watch Knicks fans celebrate Cavs sweep in Cleveland

The New York Knicks had fans roll into Rocket Arena to see a dry spell snap Monday night. Even celebrities Timothée Chalamet, Kylie Jenner, Fat Joe. Spike Lee and Ben Stiller comprised the visiting cheers. Those renown stars and the Knicks faithful witnessed their team clinch their NBA Finals spot, rolling to the 130-93 trouncing of the Cleveland Cavaliers.

The cameras captured a euphoric fanbase, one that waited 27 years to return to the championship stage.

Franchise legends Walt Frazier and Patrick Ewing joined the team in celebrating this new franchise moment. The latter past Knicks star represents the last New York star to taste the finals championship stage. His Knicks team still fell 4-1 to the San Antonio Spurs during that 1999 appearance.

A multitude of moments happened the last time NYK made it this far, including old nemesis Michael Jordan announcing a second retirement.

New York additionally delivered some dominating close-out games to clinch the Eastern Conference. All three clinching games got decided by more than 30 points.

Head coach Mike Brown makes some franchise history on his end. He’s officially the fifth different Knicks coach to lead the team to the NBA Finals, joining a list that includes Jeff Van Gundy and Pat Riley.

Chalamet flocked to the court celebration alongside Lee and the other celebrity fans. The Knicks already have Fox Sports 1 personality Nick Wright predicting a city celebration after the NBA championship round. New York now awaits the San Antonio Spurs or Oklahoma City Thunder to come out of the Western Conference.
