Gujarat's Vishal Jayswal was gifted the signed match ball by none other than Virat Kohli himself after the former dismissed the veteran batter in a 2025-26 Vijay Hazare Trophy clash against Delhi on December 26. The left-arm spinner ended up with four wickets to his name in a match which Gujarat unfortunately lost by seven runs.

Jayswal, who is also a handy batter for Gujarat, even put out separate Instagram posts, of which one had a video of the dismissal in which Kohli could be seen getting stumped. The 27-year-old elaborated on how sharing the field with someone whom he had grown up idolizing was a dream-come-true moment.

Kohli was dismissed for a breezy 61-ball 77-run knock after the left-arm spinner outfoxed the senior cricketer with a beautifully flighted delivery which spun away on pitching. Kohli, who had already stepped down the track, was beaten in the flight. Wicketkeeper Urvil Patel did the rest, and Delhi lost their fourth wicket on the fifth ball of the 22nd over of the innings.

Speaking of the match, Kohli was adjudged as the Player of the Match after Delhi edged Gujarat by seven runs at the BCCI Centre of Excellence Ground 1 in Bengaluru. He even took a couple of catches during Gujarat's chase to dent their chances. Prince Yadav was the pick of the bowlers from Delhi. He registered figures of 3/37 in 8.4 overs. In addition to Prince, Ishant Sharma and Navdeep Saini were impressive in the six and seven overs they bowled, respectively.

Kohli had already struck a ton in the ongoing Vijay Hazare competition at the same venue, starring with an emphatic 101-ball 131 against Andhra in the opening round. This knock comprised 14 fours and three sixes. However, the Player of the Match award was given to Simarjeet Singh for his five-wicket haul in the fixture. Delhi ended up chasing 299 in only 37.4 overs to get their tournament off to a positive start.
