India A opener Vaibhav Sooryavanshi was involved in a heated exchange with Sri Lanka A players following his team’s dramatic Super Over defeat in Dambulla on June 15. Chasing a challenging target in the decisive over, the young left-handed batter faced the final delivery with India A needing eight runs to win. However, he was unable to clear the boundary, resulting in a narrow loss for his side. As he walked back to the pavilion, tensions flared between Sooryavanshi and several Sri Lankan players. Speaking about the match, India A batted first and were bowled out for 265 in 49.2 overs. After losing their top order early, Suryansh Shedge and Vipraj Nigam rescued the innings with a crucial partnership in the middle overs. Shedge played a brilliant knock of 72 off 66 balls, including three fours and two sixes, while Vipraj contributed 51 off 49 deliveries with six boundaries. The duo stitched together a valuable 104-run partnership for the eighth wicket off just 90 balls. For Sri Lanka A, Mohamed Shiraz impressed with figures of 3/33, while Vijayakanth Viyaskanth picked up 3/26.
