UConn to host Purdue for Connecticut exhibition game

The UConn Huskies will host the Purdue Boilermakers on Tuesday, Oct. 27 for a preseason exhibition contest. Tipoff time, television coverage, and ticket information have not yet been released.

The exhibition will serve as a rematch of the 2024 NCAA National Championship Game, where UConn defeated Purdue 75-60 in Glendale to secure the title.

Historically, the Boilermakers lead the all-time series 4-2, while the Huskies are 2-0 against Purdue in NCAA Tournament play, including wins in the 2009 Sweet 16 and the 2024 title game. The upcoming contest will also be the Boilermakers first trip to Connecticut in nearly 30 years.

The exhibition is part of a challenging preseason slate for UConn under head coach Dan Hurley, who is preparing his team for one of the most difficult nonconference schedules in the country. The Huskies are set for additional matchups against Michigan State in a home-and-home exhibition series, as well as high-profile opponents including Duke, Michigan, Arizona, Illinois, Virginia, Kansas, and Ohio State.

UConn is coming off a 34-6 campaign that ended in a loss to the Wolverines in the national championship game, its third title-game appearance in four years. Purdue finished 30-8 last season and reached the Elite Eight before losing to the Wildcats.

Over the last four seasons, the Huskies rank second nationally with 126 wins, while the Boilermakers rank fourth with 117 wins.

Purdue’s recent exhibition history includes losses on the road against Arkansas (2023), Creighton (2024), and Kentucky (2025). The Boilermakers continue their approach of scheduling high-level preseason road games to prepare for regular-season competition.
