Tyler Reddick absolves Michael Jordan of wrongdoing after creepy viral Daytona 500 video with his son

After legendary NBA player Michael Jordan went viral after the Daytona 500 for a moment with 2026 winner Tyler Reddick’s young son, Beau, the 2026 winner absolved the six-time NBA Champion from any wrongdoing.

Speaking to Stephen A. Smith for his SiriusXM show (via TMZ Sports), Reddick attempted to put out the fires, claiming Jordan didn’t do anything wrong.

“From my perspective, I’ve gotten to know Michael and his family very well over the years I’ve been here with 23XI, and I don’t see what other people see when it comes to this,” he said. “For me, it’s a huge moment. This is the biggest moment of my career, it’s a huge moment for my family and for his family, and I put that off to the side and just think about the look on Yvette’s [Prieto] face and the whole family and his whole group when they got to Victory Lane, too, and just how happy everybody was celebrating together.”

While he didn’t necessarily address some of the criticisms Jordan has received, it sounds like he was just focused on the Daytona 500 win in the moment.

During the celebration of Reddick’s Daytona 500 win, Jordan was caught touching his son. It’s unclear what exactly was happening, but Jordan appeared to pinch Beau’s lower back and brush his leg.

This received heavy criticism from people online. However, this was not the first time Jordan has been seen holding Reddick’s son.

Reddick won the “Great American Race” on Sunday, Feb. 15, 2026. This added another ring to Jordan’s illustrious career after winning six NBA Championships with the Chicago Bulls.

Jordan is co-owner of 23XI Racing alongside Denny Hamlin and Curtis Polk. He joined in 2020, and the team’s lineup currently consists of Reddick, Bubba Wallace, Riley Herbst, and Corey Heim.
