Tottenham should only consider re-signing Troy Parrott if they get relegated
Tottenham have been warned only to re-sign Troy Parrott if they are relegated from the Premier League, as he’s not good enough to be in the top flight.
The 24-year-old left north London in 2024 to join AZ Alkmaar and he has scored 50 goals over the last two seasons.

Spurs are looking to invest in their attacking options this summer, particularly as Randal Kolo Muani is leaving White Hart Lane when his loan expires.
Additionally, Dominic Solanke has struggled with form and injuries, netting only three Premier League goals.
Parrot, meanwhile, was integral for the Republic of Ireland during their World Cup qualification campaign as he provided six goals.
A host of European clubs are interested in the forward, including Ajax, Real Betis, Wolfsburg and AC Milan. However, reports indicate Spurs are also monitoring their ex-player.
The Ireland international came through the academy and made his senior debut at 17 under Jose Mourinho but underwhelming loan spells in the EFL led to him leaving.
Is he Championship standard?
On the latest episode of Inside Spurs, the panel discussed the prospect of the 24-year-old returning and whether he would be successful with a second opportunity at the club.
Deputy head of sport for The Sun Dean Scoggins said: “If we are in the Championship, I could see the move working out, but he is not good enough to play in the Premier League, definitely not to start.
“I know people complain about Solanke or Richarlison, but they are both streets ahead of Parrott.

“He’s a good player, but there are a lot of those out there. He would be a cheaper option if we go down, but would he even want to come to us then?”
Parrott joined AZ Alkmaar in a £6.7million deal with Tottenham, including a 20 per cent sell-on clause for his next transfer.
If Spurs were to bring him home, they would receive the same discount within the clause, with his value estimated to be around £22million this summer.
Statistically, Parrott has scored the fifth most goals of any player across Europe’s top leagues, including on a league, cup and international basis.
Additionally, data suggests his goal threat is greater than 80 per cent of European strikers.

Tottenham podcaster Ricky Sacks shared his concerns regarding the club’s broader strategy.
He said: “It seems like we are preparing to go down to the Championship, given the terms being made with Andy Robertson and Marcos Senesi.
“It happened last year when we didn’t know if we would be in the Champions League, and that certainly affected recruitment last summer which stopped getting big signings over the line.
“They can’t build a Premier League squad, so how could they build one for the Championship?”
Spurs are hoping for a summer of change after new manager, Roberto de Zerbi, signed a five-year deal, signalling his intent to create a long-term plan.
According to reports, Parrott is keen on returning to his boyhood club, regardless of their top flight status.
