The Masters 2026 prize money: Purse details and payout breakdown for iconic major
The Masters is just around the corner and not only do winners get a green jacket, but they also claim a huge amount of money.
Special moments are made at Augusta, some that are a lot more important than the cash – just ask Rory McIlroy.

But the most famous major tournament in the sport offers the biggest payout of all for its players.
McIlroy finally completed the career Grand Slam on an incredible final day last year, beating Justin Rose in a dramatic play-off.
They claimed a hefty chunk of money for their exploits, and it’s going to be the same again this year…
The Masters 2026 prize money
The official prize money for the 2026 Masters will be revealed during the week of the event.
But the payout is expected to be similar to the 2025 tournament, which saw a $21million (£16m) record-breaking purse on offer.
If things are the same, the winner will be taking home the same amount as McIlroy did – $4.2m.
The runner-up will claim $2.2m, with third winning $1.4m.
Fourth will be leaving with just over $1m, while fifth wins $840,000 and sixth takes home a quarter of a million.
As for further down the leaderboard, seventh wins $700,000 and eighth claims $651,000.
It’s a $609,000 prize for ninth, while a top 10 finish guarantees a player at least $567,000.
